Major Shuffles in Top Management Announced by Bharti Airtel

As the company indulges in some more global expansion, Bharti Airtel today announced some major shuffles and changes in its top management to suit its endeavors of further expansion, and CEO Manoj Kohli has now been named the Head of the company’s International Business Group.

Also, Deputy CEO Sanjay Kapoor has been elevated to the position of the CEO, and with the move, the company is looking to enhance its focus on taking its operations in international markets beyond India and South Asia.

“The next phase of our journey is set to be another game changer — requiring superior thrust and focused leadership. We continue to win in the Indian telecom market, which is going through a phase of hyper-competition. At the same time, we will be developing comprehensive plans for our journey to cover emerging markets beyond India and South Asia”, said Chairman and MD Sunil Mittal.

The reshuffling has come a day after Bharti has agreed to purchase a majority 70% stake in Bangladesh based Warid Telecom for $300 Million.

The new management structure will be effective starting 1 April.
