JSW Energy to commission first phase of its 300 MW Jaigarh Power Plant

JSW Energy, a group company of Jindal South West (JSW) group headed by Mr.Sajjan Jindal, has revealed its plans to commission the first phase of 300 MW Jaigarh power plant in Maharashtra by January.

It should be noted that JSW Energy is currently developing a 1,200 MW coal-fired plant at Jaigarh, which is expected to fully commission by September 2010.

According to a company official, who did not want to be identified, the 300 MW capacity of the plant will be commissioned in January followed by another 300 MW in April 2010. The company plans to commission 300 MW every quarter till September 2010 as per schedule.

Apart from Jaigarh Power Plant, JSW Energy is also setting up a 3,200-MW supercritical thermal power plant entailing an investment of Rs 15,000-crore at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.
