Wockhardt gets USFDA nod for Promethazine hydrochloride injection
Pharmaceuticals major Wockhardt has informed that it has got sanction from US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market Promethazine hydrochloride injection in the strengths of 25 mg/ml and 50 mg/ml.
Promethazine hydrochloride is an antihistamine, which eases nasal stuffiness and inflammation and red, inflamed eyes caused by hay fever and other allergies.
Also, it relieves itching, swelling, and redness from hives and other rashes; allergic reactions to blood transfusions.
Recently, the company has received tentative approval from USFDA to produce and market Sumatriptan Succinate injection, in the strength of 6 mg/0.5 ml.
Stock of Wockhardt ended the day ( Friday) at Rs 165, down 1.87 per cent on National Stock Exchange.
