Wipro Technologies, the leading provider of IT solutions, is looking for an acquisition in the BPO space, which is likely to be the next engine of growth for the IT industry.

Mr Suresh Vaswani, Joint CEO of Wipro Technologies said, “The economy has improved and the IT demand situation is certainly improving. The deal pipeline is good, as the demand environment is building up.”

He further added that the company was looking at buyout in the BPO space. “BPO has strong performance. Acquisition is part of our strategy, so we keep looking at it.”

The stock of Wipro Limited closed today at Rs 593 on BSE, down 2 per cent compared to its previous close.
