Wipro in pact with EADS arm to make aerospace components

Recently Wipro's infrastructure engineering division has joined hands with aerospace giant EADS' subsidiary with the purpose of manufacturing engineered components for the aerospace and defence sector.

In the deal it is stated that the EADS' Spanish subsidiary, Compania Espanola De Sistemas Aeronauticos (CESA) will transfer a part of its technology with its manufacturing workload. This will be given for aerospace actuators and precision parts to Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN).

The shares of Wipro Ltd were trading upward to 0.42 per cent at Rs 437.20 on the Bombay Stock Exchange at 9:55 am.

Pratik Kumar, president of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering has stated that they have been in the widely hydraulics business from many years and this will give them an opportunity to have an entry into the aerospace and defence sector.

But it is not easy job to enter and the time required to put a product into the market is too time taking. He added that once if they enter this market and make a position then they can expand their business by building good relationship in the market.
