Vodafone and Samsung Launch 360 Social Networking Phone

vodafone-samsungVodafone and Samsung have joined hands in the effort to introduce to the markets a high-end, sleek phone, specifically designed for people who want to use their devices as a source to stay connected with their online social lives. Vodafone's social networking service, Vodafone 360, has been launched with Samsung's exclusive H1 handset.

The carrier's 360 service is fairly easy to use once configures, and offers cloud-based backup, in addition to a usable web-based service which enables users to access information on their PCs as well. There are, however, some glitches, like the set-up is complicated and might require users to call for professional help, the service is not sufficiently two-way and ultimately relies on people signing up for 360 itself.

But it seems that whatever the service lacks, the phone has managed to make up for. An HSDPA 3G phone, the H1 sports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as GPS. The screen is a good 3.5 inches, OLED touchscreen and offers a resolution of 800X400. The in-built memory of the phone is 16GB and can be expanded further, and the device boasts a camera in the front, as well as a 5 megapixel one in the back.

The device runs on LiMo - Linux Mobile - Release 2 operating system.

Users of the phone and the 360 service can get their own logins at www.360.com, as well as e-mail addresses with their own name, followed by @360.com.
