ViewSonic to Break into Mobile Market with VPC08
ViewSonic is all set to enter the Mobile Handset Market with a bang. The company has announced it's soon to be launched first ever phone - the VPC08. The phone, which will run on Windows XP platform, is being viewed as a perfect merger of PCs and mobile phones. Although not much has been shared officially yet, the phone is expected to have an Intel ULV-series core processor.
Other features of the VPC08 are a 4.3 inch screen, 512 MB RAM and 8GB of storage space integrated within the phone. It sports a slid out, full QWERTY keyboard (opens vertically), and this is in addition to a 2 inch display and a phone keypad on the outside. A 2 megapixel camera is also a part of the package.
Some have been quick to remark that the phone looks like a remake of the Nokia E90, but the company has shunned any such claims.
With a price tag of nearly $800, the phone is currently restricted to China alone, but will soon be shared with the rest of the world.
