Thomas Cook, Central Bank Signs Up Money Transfer Deal

Leading outbound travel agency Thomas Cook (India) Ltd has entered into an agreement with Central Bank of India to provide a money transfer service through MoneyGram International, a leading international payment service.

Thomas Cook has joined MoneyGram in India since 1997.

In a press conference, Parag Mehta, president and head, foreign exchange, Thomas Cook said, “The network of Central Bank gives us access to areas that weren't in our reach before.”

H.A. Daruwalla, bank chairperson and managing director stated, “We are pleased to offer MoneyGram Money Transfer Services through our branches. Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and their family members can use these services.”

With lots of NRIs settled abroad in the US, Britain, Canada, Australia and the UAE, transfer of money from such countries to India is high.

“Reaching to our customers is very important and they can complete their transactions at high levels of convenience,” Thomas Cook (India) Managing Director Madhavan Menon said.

Harsh Lambah, MoneyGram’s regional director for south Asia said that the Central Bank of India through its network of 3282 branches can offer suitable and dependable money transfer services to any place.

BMW introduces 3-Series Touring

Germany-based luxury car maker BMW recently took wraps off its fifth-generation 3 Series Touring, which is more spacious inside than ever before.

The all-new 2013 3 Series Touring sedan is longer than the predecessor by 97mm, and its height is 11mm more at 1429mm.

Its 50mm longer wheelbase than the previous Touring allows it to provide an extra 35 litres of storage with the rear seats up. With the seats folded down, the new vehicle promises 1500 litres of space in total.

The 2013 3 Series Touring will be available in a choice of three advanced, powerful, yet economic engines.
