Tata Indicom, PayMate To Offer ‘Flight Ticketing Service’ On Cell Phones
Private telecom service provider, Tata Teleservices Ltd has partnered with mobile commerce solution company, PayMate, in order to offer up ‘flight ticketing service’ on the cell phones to over 20 million Tata Indicom’s subscribers all-through the country.
The deal will permit Tata Indicom’s subscribers to book domestic flight tickets anywhere, anytime at the best available fares via their cellular phones.
While making announcement about the launch of the service, Pankaj Sethi, President, Value Added Services, Tata Teleservices Ltd stated, “Ticketing has been one of the most popular m-Commerce applications in the mobile telephony space—this is because convenience and flexibility on time are big pull factors. We are excited to partner with PayMate and add flight ticketing application in bouquet of value-added-services.”
In association with PayMate, Tata Teleservices has also decided to provide a variety of ticketing applications shortly.
In a declaration, Ajay Adiseshann, Founder and Managing Director, PayMate told, “Considering the rapid proliferation of mobile handsets in the country, the cell phone is emerging as the premier device for conducting transactions. Partnering with a leading player like Tata Indicom will just make this facility available across several million handsets in one go and provide an extremely convenient ticketing channel for customers.”
In order to launch an SMS-based ticketing service, PayMate has also signed up a deal with Kingfisher airlines.
Tata Teleservices has operations in over 4,000 towns across 20 Indian circles and has a customer-base of more than 2.1 crore.
Based in Mumbai, PayMate India Private Limited has been spun off by Coruscant Tec, a mobile content developer and aggregator, to offer comprehensive mobile commerce solutions.
