Symantec launches Anti-virus software for smartphones
Security solution provider, Symantec has launched Norton Everywhere programme that will take the Anti Virus software to the smart phones and other devices to protect against hacking and cyber attacks.
The three-part initiative will also cover the consumer apps and will bring mobile safety and web safety on smart devices. The company will integrate its trusted security, backup and infrastructure technologies with its partners to offer the service on the new platform.
The customers will be able to use Norton everywhere on different devices, many locations and on various digital platforms. Symantec will offer the service directly to the customer or though business-to-business offerings.
Symantec will soon launch Norton Smartphone Security for Android Beta, Norton Connect Beta and Norton DNS Beta programs under its plans to expand the security progrmmes on to new frontiers.
The number of smartphones with access to the internet has risen significantly. This has increased the opportunities for hackers to compromise the security of data on these devices. Many companies are already bringing up their anti-virus programs for smart phones.
