Reliance Jio signs tower-leasing agreement with Viom

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, the telecommunications arm of Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), has signed a tower-sharing agreement with Viom Networks for rolling out 4G services.

Viom Networks, which is a joint venture between India's SREI Infrastructure and Tata Teleservices, has 42,000 mobile phone towers across the country.

RIL purchased 4G airwaves in a government sale in 2010, and added some more airwaves it can use to deliver 4G services from an auction this year, but it has yet to launch services.

Reliance Power Ltd, a subsidiary of Anil Ambani group, has confirmed that its long-serving Chief Executive Officer (CEO) J P Chalasani has stepped down from the top post.

CAG Expresses Desire to Examine Propriety of Expenses of RIL

The Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG) has said that it wishes to assess the propriety of expenses of Reliance India Limited (RIL) on KG-D6 gas block.

CAG has, however, denied planning to do company's performance audit. Previously, it has also suspended the audit of RIL's spending on KG-D6 gas block and extended the scrutiny. It emerged that it is now willing to resume the audit.
