Ronnie Screwvala Presents Directives for M&E Industry at FICCI FRAMES 2010
At the Ficci-Frames 2010 summit, UTV Group's Founder Chairman and CEO Ronnie Screwvala presented 10 "game changing" directives, which, he believes, the Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry will have to take up in the upcoming years in order to survive.
He termed mobile, broadcasting, competition, cable, youth, games, consolidation, scale, subservient approach and consumer DNA as the "game changers".
"The fast changing mobile technology will be the key revenue earner as content on the mobile phone is going to be highly monetisable", he said.
Screwvala also said that broadcasting scenario in transforming heavily in India with the rising popularity of DTH services, which is likely to cover another 30 million homes in India by next year.
According to him, the foremost priority of the industry is to develop an-round connection with all the consumers as the industrialists have been seeking consumer confidence worldwide.
He also pointed out that the games are at present, the least accessed market portions in India. However, there is a probability of a change in its market, all over the world, as gaming sector is soon going to be rich with $45 billion investment.
