Rolls Royce’s Ghost to roll out in India in 2010
Rolls Royce, the Britain's super -luxury car manufacturer, has launched the ghost, its new premium saloon model. The company has planned to roll it out in the second Quarter of the next year in India.
The reports state that 'the ghost' is smaller and lighter by 190 kg as compared to the Phantom. The car has four doors and a 6.6 litre V12 engine, which accelerates to 100 kmph in less than five seconds.
In an interaction with the reporters, the General Manager of the Rolls-Royce Motor Car in South and East Asia-Pacific, Mr. Brenda Pek said, "India is going to be a key market for Ghost and we expect to sell 50-60 units of Ghost in 2010. And the cost of the car will vary according to the level of personalization a customer wants."
The company has sold 20 cars of the phantom family and has expected a sale of 18 more cars by the end of this year. For the new car, the company has plans to sell 75 units in India. For the global sale, company has a target of 2,500 units in this year.
Mr. Pek further said, "We will be producing around 2,500 cars in 2010. Out of the 2,500 cars, 25 per cent of production will be of the Phantom brand and remaining will be that of Ghost."
