Ramsarup Industries signs power purchase agreement with WBSEDCL

Ramsarup Industries has announced that it has inked a power purchase pact with PSU major West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company (WBSEDCL).

As per the agreement, the company will supply 118.60 million units of electricity annually from its waste heat and carbon monoxide (CO)-based power facility to the WBSEDCL.

In a declaration, the company said that the supply of electricity will generate yearly revenue of Rs 60 crore.

Ramsarup Industries, which is active in making steel wires, had started a 22 Mega Watts power facility at Kharagpur in June 2008.

The sources informed that the validity of the agreement is for 25 years starting from Nov. 10, 2009 onwards.

Sources added that the pact can be further extended on mutual terms and conditions.
