Porsche introduces Panamera in India

Porsche AG, on Thursday, has introduced its new stylish sports car, Panamera, in India. The company has unveiled the new car at an exclusive function in Mumbai.

Porsche has decided to launch three variants of Panamera in India – S, 4S and turbo. The cost of these variants will vary from Rs 2 crore for Panamera turbo to Rs 4 crore for Panamera 4 and 4S.

The Panamera S features a 4.8-litre V8 engine, which can generate a power up to 400 bhp. Its pick up is 100km/h in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 283km/h. The dynamic Panamera 4S is also powered by a 4.8-litre V8 engine, but the engine power is transferred to all four wheels using Porsche’s seven-speed PDK. The Panamera 4S can accelerate up to 100km/h in 5 seconds with a top speed of 282 km/h. The Panamera Turbo is loaded with a 4.8-litre V8 biturbo engine that can develop around 500 bhp of maximum power. It can accelerate to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds, and it has a top speed of 303 km/h.

Precision Cars, official dealers of Porsche cars in India has claimed that they have already booked 13 cars and the number is expected to go up in the coming months.

Porsche is also planning to open some more dealership in Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi and Hyderabad.

BMW introduces 3-Series Touring

Germany-based luxury car maker BMW recently took wraps off its fifth-generation 3 Series Touring, which is more spacious inside than ever before.

The all-new 2013 3 Series Touring sedan is longer than the predecessor by 97mm, and its height is 11mm more at 1429mm.

Its 50mm longer wheelbase than the previous Touring allows it to provide an extra 35 litres of storage with the rear seats up. With the seats folded down, the new vehicle promises 1500 litres of space in total.

The 2013 3 Series Touring will be available in a choice of three advanced, powerful, yet economic engines.
