Mining major, NMDC and steel manufacturer SAIL have entered into MoU with the aim to build up limestone project at Arki in Himachal Pradesh. NMDC is possessing the mining rent for limestone in Arki.

By signing the MoU, both the conglomerates will together explore opportunities into various technical aspects to build 3 million tonne yearly project.

Supply from this project will assure limestone raw material security for steel facilities of SAIL and also to the NMDC's steel plant being set up at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh.

Functionaries of NMDC stated in a communiqué that the project will offer beneficial results to Himachal Pradesh including employment generation, sustained growth and economic prosperity.
