Madurai BSNL to launch IPTV service
The Madurai Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has decided to roll out the long awaited IPTV Service, which would facilitate Broad band clientele watch 150 channels.
According to the company officials, people in the 10 southern districts, who subscribed to broad Band service (BBS), would get voice, data and video if they wanted. They could see movies of their choice by paying money, by March 2009.
The source close to the company said that BSNL will soon roll out third generation Mobile service, popularly known as 3G services by March 2009, which will facilitate mobile users to send e-mail, video, and also see cinema and TV.
According to the reports, Major cities and towns in the state (Madurai) would be covered under 3G service.
Through 3G service, the clientele would be able to transmit data at a very high speed of 2Mbps.
Wireless Broad Band service customers would also get 3G facility.
