L&T wins orders worth Rs 1,500 crore

Engineering and construction giant, Larsen & Toubro Ltd has said today that it won orders worth Rs 1,500 crore form various firms for the construction of hospitals, residential towers and factories.

In a filing to the Bombay stock exchange (BSE), the company said that its building and factories operating unit has bagged new orders totaling Rs. 1,500 crore.

HLL Lifecare Ltd awarded two contracts worth Rs 627 crore for the construction of hospital buildings and a contract for the construction of for residential buildings worth Rs 342-crore was awarded by Shree Ahuja Properties & Realtors.

Additionally, a contract worth Rs 321 crore was given by the Lucknow Development Authority while the other Rs 210 crore orders came from various vendors, added the filing.

The company said in a statement, "These orders further enhances the order book of the company, which has already secured major design and build contracts for Airports, IT parks and commercial space."

The stocks of the company were trading marginally higher at Rs. 1620 in the morning trade at the BSE.
