L&T wins order worth Rs 1635 crore from MPPGCL

India's largest construction and engineering group Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has bagged an order worth Rs 1635 crore from Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Ltd (MPPGCL).

The scope of work includes designing, engineering, manufacturing of coal handling, ash handling plant and Shree Singaji (Malwa) thermal power plant in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The project will be funded by the Madhya Pradesh Government and PFC.

On commissioning, MPPGCL's 1,200-MW project would generate 28.8 million units to the grid everyday.

The stock of the company closed today at Rs 1600 on BSE. The counter had hit a 52-week high of Rs 1800 on 8 June 2009 and a 52-week low of Rs 557 on 9 March 2009.
