Limitless GPRS services Launched by Vodafone Essar at Rs 95

The launch of limitless GPRS-based mobile internet facilities was declared by Vodafone Essar, for its prepaid users in Karnataka, at a monthly rental of Rs. 95. A three day limitless GPRS pack is also obtainable for Rs. 16. Prepaid subscribers would require sending a SMS ACT GPRS to 144 or calling 121.

On the launch K Sankara Narayanan Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Essar South Limited said, "We always aim at providing innovative, economical and superior services that benefit our prepaid customers. The advantages of GPRS are as wide as your imagination takes you.. With Unlimited GPRS, the world can be in your palms, just a click away."

Subscribers will be able to access up to 2 GB of data transfer every month. Beyond the free limit, the browsing charges will be 10 paise per 10 kb.

It has been said that these services would provide free data usage upto 200 MB.

The pack which costs Rs. 95 GPRS comes with one month validity, and it also provides complimentary data usage upto 2GB. Following utilization of free data a charge of 10p/10kb is pertinent.

India’s sovereign rating deserves an upgrade: FM

India deserved an upgrade in credit ratings and sovereign outlook as the country's macro-economic situation is much better now, Union Finance minister P Chidambaram said.

Speaking on the sidelines of an event organized by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Monday, there was nothing to worry about the country's current macro-economic situation.

The Finance Minister said, "We deserve a ratings and outlook upgrade. There is nothing to worry as the macro-economic situation is much better now."

iGate CEO Phaneesh Murthy sacked following sexual harassment probe

NASDAQ-listed software services firm iGate has sacked its president & CEO Phaneesh Murthy following a probe into a claim of sexual harassment.

Announcing Murthy's dismissal, the company said, "The investigation, which is ongoing, has reached the finding that Mr. Murthy's failure to report this relationship violated iGate's policy, as well as Mr. Murthy's employment contract."
