Infosys BPO to hire 1500-2000 professionals
Infosys BPO, the business process outsourcing subsidiary of Infosys Technologies, has decided to hire between 1500 - 2000 professionals by the end of current financial year.
Amitabh Chaudhry, CEO, Infosys BPO said, "Currently we are 16,000 people in India. We plan to hire 2000 people in the next four-five months or by the end of this fiscal."
Recently, Infosys unit has signed a pact with the Andhra Pradesh Government to establish rural BPO centers in 22 districts of the state.
Apart from latest development, Infosys BPO is also planning to establish new delivery centre in the United States before the end of this fiscal. At present, Infosys has 8 delivery centres across the globe, including in Mexico, but it did not have any centre in the US region.
Infosys BPO has posted revenue of US$ 71.3 million along with a net profit of US$16.3 million for its second quarter ended September 30, 2009.
