Indian Market Opens Positive on Wednesday; Asian Markets Strong

Kidnapped oil workers freed in ColombiaIndian Stock Market opened positive on day after Christmas with Capital Goods, Consumer Durables and Metal counters trading strong. Japanese Yen has hit 20 month low against USD and Euro and stock prices of major Japanese exporters were trading higher. Other Asian markets were trading positive.

Major gainers in today's early session were JP Associates, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, BHEL, Reliance Infra, Siemens, Ranbaxy Labs, Sesa Goa, Ambuja Cements, Cipla and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Among capital goods stocks, Jindal Saw was up by 4.7%, Punj Lloyd was up by 2.26%, BEML was up by 1.5% and Crompton Greaves was trading at Rs 114.

Banking stocks were marginally higher. Among top losers were HUL, Hero Motorcorp, Wipro and Infosys.

At 10.50 AM IST, BSE Sense was up by 42 points at 19296 and NSE Nifty was up by 11 points at 5866.
