IBM to purchase Coremetrics

IT Company, IBM has said that it is planning to buyout Coremetrics, which is into the business of providing Web analytics software.

It is not yet clear whether Coremetrics has accepted the offer and what then are the terms of the deal that has been put in front of it.

But people close to the deal said that IBM will be including Coremetrics in its business portfolio and will thus make its position strong in the business of making software for business analytics.

California-based Coremetrics is a privately held company and it provides cloud analytics services to the companies who want to establish themselves as better brands. The company also claims that it help clients with e-mail pitches and can also provide customized recommendations.

All these can help in better promoting their marketing activities and that will help them in better positioning.

Some of the big clients of Coremetrics include- Bank of America, Holiday Inn, Office Depot, Petco, Victoria's Secret and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Coremetrics has 230 people working for it and it is said that IBM is considering of including them in its business. Year end has been fixed as the deadline for closing the deal.

BMW introduces 3-Series Touring

Germany-based luxury car maker BMW recently took wraps off its fifth-generation 3 Series Touring, which is more spacious inside than ever before.

The all-new 2013 3 Series Touring sedan is longer than the predecessor by 97mm, and its height is 11mm more at 1429mm.

Its 50mm longer wheelbase than the previous Touring allows it to provide an extra 35 litres of storage with the rear seats up. With the seats folded down, the new vehicle promises 1500 litres of space in total.

The 2013 3 Series Touring will be available in a choice of three advanced, powerful, yet economic engines.
