Honda Confirms Plans to Unveil 100-cc Bike at Auto Expo
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India recently confirmed that the company is in "the final stage" of preparations to enter into the 100-cc segment of the country's two-wheeler market and will be unveiling its first ever 100-cc motor bike at the Auto Expo 2010.
In terms of volume, the 100-cc segment is the largest in the domestic Indian two-wheeler sector. Honda, which currently has a strong presence in the market's 125-cc segment with Shine and Stunner, and 150-cc segment with Unicorn, will be entering the aforementioned largest segment with a grand unveiling at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi. The plans have been confirmed by HMSI Vice-President and Operating Head-Purchase Anupam Mohindroo.
"We are going to launch a 100-cc vehicle. It will be a different model. The company would showcase the motorcycle in the Auto Expo 2010", said Mr. Mohindroo.
The company has confirmed that for the research and development of the upcoming vehicle, as well as other productions, Honda India has already invested nearly Rs. 1,000 during the last fiscal year. No other details have been shared yet.
