Google+ and Pinterest: two fast-growing social networks
That the online social networks are witnessing extraordinary popularity is evident from the fact that while Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are already being widely used all across the world, two other social networks – the fast-growing Google+ and Pinterest - have also been making big leaps of late!
According to the statistics forthcoming from several reports, Internet search giant’s last-summer-launched Google+ social network already boasts over 90 million users; and, going by some estimates, it is likely to touch the ‘400 million users’ milestone this year.
Meanwhile, the 2010-launched Pinterest – which enables users to post images of things like clothes, products, and hairstyles, has had a blazing time in January, with nearly 17 million page views already thus far this month. Though there has been official disclosure about the number of Pinterest users, it is believed that more than 4 million people currently use the invitation-only niche network.
The increasing popularity of Google+ largely stems from the fact that it enables the users to video chat with friends, via the “Hangouts” feature; and that its most recent “Circles” addition allow the users to ‘group’ their contacts, thus facilitating the sharing of information.
Meanwhile, the Pinterest network chiefly stresses on beauty and design, via the images which the users share under the so-called ‘Pinboards.’ With the help of these images, the ‘Pinners’ create a stunning visual language on the notably aesthetic site which is neatly bordered by a faint shade of pink!
