Fortis Healthcare Q2 net profit zooms 23%
Fortis Healthcare, leading Indian hospital chain, has announced that its net profit has witnessed a growth of 23% in the second three month period ended on 30 September. Company’s net profit figure during the reporting quarter stood at Rs 12.9 crore.
In the corresponding period a year earlier, the company has recorded a net profit of Rs 10.5 crore.
While commenting on the occasion, Mr. Daljit Singh, president of Fortis Healthcare stated, “During the quarter, our larger hospitals located in Delhi, Noida, Jaipur and Bangalore have reported robust growth which has pushed the net profit.”
During the quarter under review, in terms of the total income the company has clocked a growth of 20.9% at Rs190.49 crore as compared to Rs157.54 crore in the like quarter last fiscal.
In the second three month period, the company has signed a deal for purchasing 10 hospitals (including two under construction) from Wockhardt Hospitals Ltd for Rs 909 crore, which will add 1,902 beds to its capacity as well as expand its presence in southern, western and eastern regions of India.
