EPO Awards 3 Patents to 3 Suven Drugs
As has been confirmed by the company, drug-maker Suven Life Sciences has been awarded patents by the European Patent Office for as many as 3 of its chemical entities, used in drugs which are mainly for treatment of nerve disorders.
"The company gets three patents -- EP1537113, EP1704154 and EP1856132 and the said are valid until 23, and 24, 2022, respectively", Suven said in its official filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
It has been confirmed that the patent granted to drugs include therapeutic agents much useful in the treatment of many serious nervous conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson's, and schizophrenia, which lead to degeneration of the nervous system.
"We are very pleased by the grant of these patents to Suven by EPO for our pipeline of molecules in central nervous system arena that are being developed for cognitive disorders", said Suven CEO Venkat Jasti.
With the latest patents, Suven now has a total of 7 granted patents on its new chemical agents. The patents make the entities exclusive intellectual property of Suven, which, as shared by the company, have been achieved through the firm's internal discovery research efforts.
