Dr Reddy's gets USFDA nod for Trandolapril tablets

Domestic pharmaceutical major Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd has finally received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for manufacturing and marketing of Trandolapril tablets.

The approval has been granted for 1 milligram, 2 mg and 4 mg dosage of the drug.

The drug is a generic version of Abbott Laboratories' Mavik tablets, indicated in the treatment of hypertension. The drug is also used to improve survival in patients with heart failure after a heart attack.

Recently, Dr Reddy's has obtained approval from the government to manufacture codeine, used to make cough syrups and pain relieving drugs.
