Coca-Cola India announces significant management changes
American beverages giant Coca-Cola on Friday announced an organizational rejig at its India arm in a bid to bring about greater synergies between its management and bottling partners.
Coca-Cola India said that Debabrata Mukherjee, the current vice president of its strategy & still beverages, would now become vice president of marketing & commercial operations.
Mr. Mukherjee who has been serving Coca-Cola since 1998, was the chief of marketing Coca-Cola Korea before returning to India in 2011.
Vikas Chawla, currently vice president of operations at the company has been moved to Athens, where he will replace the head of franchise operations and lead operations for twelve European nations.
Sumanta Datta, the current vice president of customer & commercial leadership, will take over as vice president of the company's bottling operations; while franchise operations' director Bhupendra Suri has been promoted to the position of vice president of franchise bottling operations.
Venkatesh Kini, deputy business unit president for the company's India & south west Asia operations, said, "The entire team will work closely with our bottling partners to achieve our vision 2020 goals in India."
The organizational rejig was announced a day after Coca-Cola International President Ahmet C Bozer announced that the company's plans to invest $5 billion in India by 2020 were on track despite the country's tough economic conditions.
