BSE Realty Index Rolls Down By 5.38%
The Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was observed to end at 16769.67, down 69.96 points or 0.42% whereas the 30 share index touched intraday low of 16673.52 and high of 17035.49 intraday. Simultaneously, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed at 5060.95, down 12 points or 0.24% and the broader index climbed at 5132.20 and low of 5015.40, during the today’s trade.
In addition, BSE Realty Index was down 5.38%, BSE Metal Index declined 1.98% and BSE Bankex slipped 0.97% and BSE IT Index was up 1.26%. Further, the Jaiprakash Associates (-7.66%), Reliance Communications (-7.59%), Reliance Infrastructure (-7.29%), Reliance Power (-7.29%), Reliance Capital (-7.03%) and DLF (-6.54%) have credited to be the worst on the Nifty.
On the other hand, TCS (3.15%), BHEL (3.09%), HCL Tech (2.27%), Bharti Airtel (2.03%) and ITC (1.99%) have succeeded to reserve a place among the major gainers. Further, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group's stocks, metal, infrastructure, realty, private financial and select PSU companies' shares experienced some selling burden.
Meanwhile, the France's CAC, Germany's DAX and Britain's FTSE were observed to face a roll down of 1-2%, consequent to meeting between French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The meeting was scheduled to discuss the European debt crisis as well as measures to deal with the crisis.
