Aurobindo gets US FDA nod for hypertension drug

The US health regulator, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given final sanction to drug firm Aurobindo Pharmaceuticals for Fosinopril Sodium and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets.
The approval has been granted for the drug in different potencies including 10/12.5 mg and 20/12.5 mg
Fosinopril Sodium and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension. The tablets can also be used for treating cardiovascular problems.
The sources said that the conglomerate would introduce the product shortly in the US market.
With this latest approval, the company now has a total 96 abbreviated new drug applications, which entails 69 final sanctions and 27 tentative approvals.
