Aurobindo gets provisionary approval to produce Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has got provisionary approval to develop and market the Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets in dosage of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. The company got approval from the US Food & Drug Administration. This is the 63rd ANDA approval from the USFDA of the Pharmaceutical major.
These tablets will be tantamount to the GlaxoSmithKlines Imitrex® Tablets, and will be helpful for the treatment of acute migraine headaches.
Sumatriptan Succinate tablets have registered a net sale figure of USD 950 million in the United States for the past year.
Aurobindo Pharma has registered a net profit of Rs 229 crores for the year ended March 2007 and Rs 55 Crores quarter ended December 2007. The stock was marginally up in early trades on Friday.
