Mukesh Ambani India's richest person with fortune of Rs 1.18 lakh crore
Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, once gain grabbed the top spot on the list of richest Indians.
The latest Forbes' annual list of billionaires, released on Monday, has 55 Indian billionaires, with Mukesh Ambani at the top with an estimated worth of Rs. 1.18 lakh crore ($21.5 billion).
The Forbes' 2013 list of the world's richest people, which includes 1,426 billionaires, said "Mukesh Ambani's fortune dropped $1 billion (Rs. 5,490 crore) though he remains India's richest person and his Reliance Industries remains (the) country's most valuable company."
Bayer to pursue Nexavar patent case in Mumbai High court
Bayer AG, Germany-based pharmaceuticals giant, declared on Monday that it would challenge the Indian Intellectual Property Appellate Board's decision regarding its anti-cancer drug Nexavar in high court.
The Controller General of Patents (CGP) allowed Hyderabad-based Natco to produce and sell a generic version of Bayer's anti-cancer drug Nexavar. The German pharmaceuticals company opposed the decision and took the matter to India's Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB), which upheld the CGP's decision.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 510 to fill gap between 5+ and 10+ inch devices
Samsung's Galaxy Note 510 is believed to be announced to fill the gap left between the 5+ inch phablets and the 10+ inch tablets.
Announced last week on the occasion of the Samsung Forum 2013 in Hyderabad for the Indian market, the Samsung Note 510 features an 8-inch display, which prompted many to call it an Apple iPad Mini killer.
The 8-inch TFT LCD display offers a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels, at 189 pixels per inch (ppi) density. Visuals presented by the display are quite detailed and impressive.
Google has terrific relationship with Samsung: says Pichette
Google has refuted reports that it is worried about the increasing dominance of Samsung and that its relationship with the South Korean manufacturer has become strained.
Speaking at a recently held Morgan Stanley investment conference, Google CFO Pichette claimed that the company had a very strong relationship with Samsung, and that the reports about the alleged strain between the two companies were created by journalists who loved big headlines which sell newspapers.
